'fed dog faeces' by boy and mother

A 37-year-old woman and her teenage son have been charged with forcing their Indonesian maid to eat dog faeces.
They have also been charged with beating and hurting the 15-year-old girl, Hartati, The Straits Times reported yesterday.
The maid, who allegedly underwent two months of torture, is being given refuge in the Indonesian Embassy.
The mother and son's names cannot be published because the 13-year-old boy is a juvenile.
They each face one charge of hitting Ms Hartati in the stomach and buttocks with badminton racquets, in one case breaking the girl's arm.
The son faces a further 10 charges of hurting her. He allegedly hit her back and buttocks with a broomstick, burned her with an iron, scalded her with boiling water and jabbed her stomach and private parts with a steel ruler.
The mother faces nine additional charges of abetting her son in hurting the maid by not stopping him.
They were also each charged with allegedly making her swallow dog faeces twice. The boy was accused of forcing her to do it a third time.
