Woman, 73, jailed for renting flat to illegals

Police raided the apartment on July 10 and arrested the five. Under Singapore laws, landlords are responsible for checking their foreign tenants' immigration papers and passports, and can be charged with harboring illegal migrants if their visas are found to have expired. The maximum jail term is two years with fines of up to S$6000 (US$3488). |
