New parliament will have 84 MPs, an increase of one

SINGAPORE


THERE are 2.035 million voters in the coming General Election, according to a report by the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee.

This is about 155,000 more than in the last election in 1997.

The new parliament will have 84 members, an increase of one.

There are nine 5-member and five 6-member Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs), and 9 Single Member Constituencies (SMCs).
