The New York Review of Books has published reviews on a number
of books pertaining to Singapore.
In its June issue Ian Buruma commented on The
Singapore Story: Memoirs of Lee Kuan Yew and Kishore Mahbubani's Can Asians
Think?
In September Kishore
Mahbubani rebutted Ian Buruma's review. There is a reply by Mr Buruma.
As far back as October 1995, the same writer reviewed two
other books:- To Catch a Tartar: A Dissident in Lee Kuan Yew's Prison
by former solicitor general Francis T Seow and Dare to Change: An Alternative
Vision for Singapore by opposition leader Dr Chee Soon Juan.
There is also a letter from Janadas Devan and a reply from Ian Buruma
